Summary: LRM jobs that fail before pilot runs are not picked up
Product: Workspace Service
Version: TP1.3.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: Java service
AssignedTo: tfreeman at mcs.anl.gov
ReportedBy: tfreeman at mcs.anl.gov
CC: keahey at mcs.anl.gov, borja at borjanet.com
TP1.3.1 has a problem with pilot jobs that fail before running, for example
because of misconfiguration (for example, the path to the pilot is incorrect).
The service will not cause any associated workspace to be corrupted in this
case, it should.
This will be addressed in a future release, the workaround for now is to just
test the configuration: test that the submission --> pilot running link is not
broken by submitting test workspaces.
Any error directly from the LRM will be written to
$GLOBUS/var/workspace_service/pilot_logs/pilot-*UUID*.txt
Look there to find the problem and correct it.
