ok, it's technically THAWED - but in any case, the big code revision
under toolkit/docs/development/4.2-drafts/ has been completed. I'm
still working on some top-level docs, adding indices and doing other
cleanup but you are free to update your repository and can make commits
So cvs update your repository and check out this page that describes the
main differences in the code you should be aware of:
The DocBook Primer has been updated here and has complete info on
editing the code:
The new code makes every file a valid XML file - many XML editors will
be able to transform any file into HTML so you can see your edits before
committing (Keep in mind that the transformation won't include
formatting from the stylesheet. Do not worry about *formatting* - just
Each guide has its own directory - commits to the repository will
trigger make in that directory. Commits to the main project directory
(such as rft/) will trigger make in all the subdirectories (controlled
by the SUBDIRS=.. line in the Makefile). Commits to the project
directory can take a minute or less to process all the subdirs.
Also, each separate guide is now more complete - instead of our
duplicate id issues which restricted our embedding of the commandline
frags or config frags - these frags are completely included.
The project's directory 'home page' file is project/index.xml (for
example, gridftp/index.xml) and instead of is a manually created TOC -
it's a table with links to guides - each link has a short description.
Can add links to docs you want to feature in addition to the regular
guides. The descriptions there now are just drafts - we can refine them
until 4.2 final.
