Hello
In case of grid-cert-request âhost ????? you should use FQDN... this is what i used and its working fine....... refer to section "1.3.3. Setting up your second machine: Security" of http://www.globus.org/toolkit/docs/4.0/admin/docbook/quickstart.html#q-security2
and see how it runs the command grid-cert-request
hope that helps......... i think second problem is also related to this one...

Sorry I send the incomplete question in my previous thread by mistake.
Hi, all
Is there anyone can explain problem about hostname vs FQDN. I am really mess up.
Hostname is the machine name which is define in /etc/nodename, for example, my machine is called myhost.
FQDN is the hostname + domain name, i.e hostname.aaa.bbb.ccc
Q1: grid-cert-request âhost ?????
????? should be hostname or FQDN
Sometimes when I use hostname here, I will got the error message âthe hostname myhost does not appear to be fully qualified. â
What does this error message really mean?
Does this mean there is a problem in my DNS configuration? if so, what kind of problem?
Q2: when runing globus-url-copy or globusrun-ws, there maybe emerge the following error message,
globus_gsi_gssapi: Authorization denied: The name of the remote host (host1.aaa.bbb.ccc), and the expected name for the remote host (host1) do not match. This happens when the name in the host certificate does not match the information obtained from DNS and is often a DNS configuration problem.
What does this message really mean? What is the DNS configuration problem? What is remote host name? what is the expected remote host name?
Thanks a lot!
Bright
